FYP demonstration of RFID jewelry system (GUI)

Ultra-high frequency (UHF) RFID Jewelry tags used to categorize high-value asset items. Graphical user interface (GUI) caters for customers & staff members.

Customers:

1. Allows the customers to access the attributes of the jewelry piece in real-time

Staff Member:

1. Interactive design allows the staff member to assign attributes to the RFID tag

2. Save the details of the respective tag in the inventory. If, tag details are updated or altered, the tag details in the staff inventory also...

Maximize Your ROI on Returnable Assets with RFID from Strategic Systems

According to industry reports, Returnable Transport Items (RTIs) – the reusable totes, pallets, rolling racks, security containers and other durable packaging used by businesses to transport goods from site to site or across your warehouse floor – can have an annual shrink rate of up to 25 percent.

Whether they’re being accidentally discarded, hoarded for later use, or simply misplaced, when your returnable assets aren’t available when you need them, you’re losing the value you’ve...

RADLab puts RFID security systems to the test

SAIT's Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Application Development Lab (RADLab) assembled devices for a client to test its RFID security systems. These systems are tested using a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) key, a device which reads and records data transferred between the RFID reader and the control system.

TechKnow MeetUp November 6, 2018 - RFID and NFC Implants

*** WARNING ***

Brayden does get his hand injected in this video, so if you don't like needles or blood, this might not be a video for you! There will be a warning before this happens.

******************

At our meetup we had John Hass and Brayden Eldridge as our presenters. In their presentation they discussed what you need to know about Radio Frequency Identification and Near Field Communication Implants. John & Brayden have both already injected RFID implants in their hands and have been...

25c3: Analyzing RFID Security

Speakers: Henryk Plötz. Karsten Nohl

Many RFID tags have weaknesses, but the security level of different tags varies widely. Using the Mifare Classic cards as an example, we illustrate the complexity of RFID systems and discuss different attack vectors. To empower further analysis of RFID cards, we release an open-source, software-controlled, and extensible RFID reader with support for most common standards.

RFID tags and contact-less smart cards are regularly criticized for their lack of...

RFID Based Secure Voting System Using PIC Microcontroller PIC16F877A

This project utilizes PIC Microcontroller PIC16F877A that integerates, deploy and collect Real Time voting decisions using RFID Tags. RFID tags provide unique 12 digit identifier that can be used for providing any kind of security solution. Three different kinds of voting decisions are displayed on the LCD i.e. Yes, No and Abstain. Also if the voting has been done, user cannot vote again. Similarly if the RFID is not registered, voting cannot be done. This project is programmed using MPLAB X...

IoT RFID Reader

A simple RFID reader which sends token information into AWS IoT service. This information can later be used to authorize starting/stopping of a service like a network connected home security system.

This implementation uses RC522 modules and pretty unsafe RFID tags that are pretty easy to clone. So they should probably not be used for any high-security applications. However, the price point was just right (cheap) for my liking.

As the ESP8266 and RC522 are 3.3V devices, I used 3.3V Arduino...

Security System RFID and Keypad 4x3

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the use of a wireless non-contact system that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data from a tag attached to an object, for the purposes of automatic identification and tracking. Some tags require no battery and are powered and read at short ranges via magnetic fields (electromagnetic induction). Others use a local power source and emit radio waves (electromagnetic radiation at radio frequencies). The tag contains electronically...
