implant test one
I got a NFC Type 2 implant in my hand from Dangerous Things. Then I built a system to control it with an Adafruit PN532 shield for an Arduino.

P.S. I have a cameo in a Vice piece where Amal gave me the implant at Toorcamp.

Adafruit NFC/RFID Shield for Arduino
We've taken our popular Adafruit PN532 breakout board and turned it into a shield - the perfect tool for any 13.56MHz RFID or NFC application. http://www.adafruit.com/products/789
The Adafruit NFC shield uses the PN532 chip-set (the most popular NFC chip on the market) and is what is embedded in pretty much every phone or device that does NFC. It can pretty much do it all, such as read and write to tags and cards, communicate with phones (say for payment processing), and 'act' like a NFC tag....

Arduino RFID Announcer System
Recognized tags are tied to names of owners. Audio files for each person are played when authorized users key in. The files .WAV files stored on the SD card and played through the adafruit wave shield. The RFID reader is from parallax.
The next iteration of this will have the addition of a cheap radio transmitter to send the correct RFID tag reads to another arduino which will handle the sound from inside the house. The unit with just the RFID reader and the radio transmitter will be placed...

Layered Wood RFID Ring | Barb Makes Things #22
This ring is similar to my layered wood pendant necklace, but the process is a little different. I use a proper wood glue and give it about half an hour to set between layers, and I use some different tools to shape it. Plus, it's got RFID!
I used parts from Adafruit: a micro NFC/RFID transponder, which is so tiny and flexible, and their NFC/RFID Arduino shield. I'm still deciding what to control with the ring, so let me know any ideas you have in the comments or on twitter.
